My Approach
My approach to video production is much like my approach to life. Do it right, make it count and have fun along the way.
In order to do it right, I need a clear understanding of what “it” is. I start by listening. Then I ask. Once the pertinent details have been gathered, I create a personalized quote for your project.
I use video to preserve stories of all kinds. I use editing to bring the stories to life. My favorite part of the whole process are the people I meet and the things I learn along the way.
Video production takes time and is not cheap… and there are many choices out there. DIY, hire a student, hire a pro, hire a friend…
Good photographers know about lighting and framing, but not necessarily moving video, good audio, sound design, video editing, and graphics editing. Most videographers are competent in those areas but not as skilled with framing and lighting (or they lack what is needed to put an interview subject at ease and capture authentic moments that can tell the story).
Connecting and putting people at ease has come naturally to me since I was young and video production is an excellent fit, particularly because of my balanced experience and training in photography, video and lighting.
